Scamander

A reclusive mountain clan known for raising the finest livestock in the country. Rumor claims that the Scamanders understand the secret speech of beasts, so skilled is their husbandry. An absurd notion, though in all justice it must be said that the Scamanders are rather odder than is usual even among wizarding folk.
You can spend Inspiration to calm any beast or magical creature (save only those under the direct influence of the Dark Arts) and engage in limited communication with it. Once you use this ability on a creature it remains friendly to you until you or an ally show hostility towards it.
Flaw – Animal Empathy
The Scamanders hate to see an animal hurt and will often go to great lengths to prevent even a dragon from coming to harm. When you spare a dangerous beast, or act to prevent one from being hurt, you gain Inspiration.
Starting Equipment –pick two–
- Albino bloodhound, for chasing nogtails off farms (Str 7, Crg 0, Wis 1, Cun 1. Bite 2 dmg)
- Enchanted valise – holds up to 6 inventory. Takes a round of searching to find anything stored inside (Heavy).
- Portable cauldron and common potion ingredients (ud6)
- Essence of Murtlap – +1 to healing rolls (ud6)
- Self-erecting tent – contains the amenities of a small and rather shabby cottage (Heavy).
- Lasso – ties or unties knots on whistled commands (Heavy).
