 Malfoy

"blood and honor"

Sigil: the Malfoy dragon, silver on green.

Skills: Courtesy (advanced) | Curses (advanced) | Fighting (basic) | Devices (basic) | Potions (basic)

+1 Shadow

Though one of the oldest wizarding families, and undoubtedly the richest, the folk of Malfoy Manor have seen better days. That venerable house, opulent and imperial, saw many dark deeds committed during its occupation by the Dark Lord in the time of the Great War. A shadow of evil seems to have seeped into the stones of the Manor, and tragedy haunts its noble heirs to this day.

Inspired ActionHouse-elf

You can spend Inspiration to call on the family elf to help you with a single task. While powerful and magically bound to follow the letter of your law, your servant delights in taking liberties with the spirit of its orders.

FlawBad Blood

All true wizards know that the Dragon has always fought the Serpent. Even so, a pall seems to hover over those born to Malfoy Manor. When you give in to the lure of the Dark Arts, gain Inspiration.

Starting Equipment –pick two–

  1. Bezoar signet ring – the stone set into the ring can be crushed and used as a universal antidote.
  2. Cursed opal, locked in a padded box
  3. 1,000 golden galleons
  4. Hand of Glory – sheds light only for the wielder (ud3)
  5. Parseltongue chapbook –1-in-6 chance of having a given phrase in parseltongue
  6. Silver-handled wand-cane (M). Like a sword-cane but for your wand.

Names

  1. Abraxas

  2. Scipio

  3. Typheus

  4. Artemis

  5. Lucretia

  6. Medea

Design Notes: where the Blacks fill the more noble dark knight archetype the Malfoys are the anti-hero version. The bound house-elf is a funny combination of the hunchbacked assistant and malicious demon servant often associated with dark wizards living in opulent ruined castles.

Names: Constellations, demonic or mythological figures.
