Ravenclaw: Clan Chang

Chang

"we find what we seek"

Gary Young in Outlander

Sigil: a swan in flight, silver on blue

Skills: Athletics (expert) | Charms (advanced) | Divination (basic) | Fighting (basic)

Gallant, perilous, and at home in the peaks and heather of the highlands, Clan Chang are the knights of House Ravenclaw. In battle the Changs are famous for their daring aerial cavalry charges, where clan warriors loose volleys of white-fletched arrows while guiding their broomsticks with their knees at full speed, while at court they are known for the splendor of their appearance and their love of ballads.

Inspired ActionSeeker

Many things that are hidden from others are visible to you. You can spend Inspiration to detect something hidden about the current situation as long as there is some visible sign for you to observe. For example, this ability could be used to quickly discover hidden treasure or the presence of a secret door, to spot a monster's weak point, or to gain a clue while faced with a puzzle. If there is nothing there for you to detect, the Referee will inform you that this is the case and you do not lose Inspiration.

FlawPassionate

The Changs are known for their romantic tempers, being great lovers of beauty and adventure. When you put yourself or your companions at risk by following your heart, you gain Inspiration.

Design Notes: Man there is really not much to work with in Cho Chang. We know her house, that she's good at sports, is pretty, and that she's "emotional" in a faintly misogynistic way that's mostly used as a point of contrast with how cool and normal the "not like the other girls" girls are. The books are shockingly incurious about her. Ok, if we combine "seeker" with "driven by romance [positive]" that's a kind of questing knight?

Names: As with the Patils, 2/3rds Chinese names to 1/3rd European, taking Katie Leung, the Scottish actress who played Cho Chang in the films, as a model. I avoided alliteration intentionally here.
